We’ve taken several vacations in Gatlinburg. My cousin, Sam lives in Sevierville, TN, which makes for a family visit and a cheap vacation all rolled into one.
In 2004, we went down for Fall Break shortly after my dad’s death. We visited the Aquarium in Gatlinburg, which was fun. We’ve been to the one in Newport, Kentucky, but I think I like the one in Gatlinburg better.
As we try to do on most trips to the area, we had breakfast at the Apple Barn and visited our favorite Pizza Hut in Gatlinburg.
For fun, we played Putt-Putt with Sam one evening and later went to the Comedy Barn. That was entertaining. While there, Kendra got a call from work trying to call her in. She told them it would take a while to get there. Like 4 hours!! I knocked something off my Bucket List while we were there. Sam, Kendra and I took a ride in a helicopter tour over Pigeon Forge. That was really cool. I remember that dad had always joked that if he were ever rich, he wanted his own helicopter.
