In 2005, we went to visit a friend that lived in Chicago. (Shout out to Flora!)We took the train from my family’s town in Bryan, Ohio to Chicago. Once in Chicago, we took public transportation.

We stayed in Flora’s condo near the Miracle Mile and did tons of school shopping. We went to the huge Old Navy in Chicago and went to Saks and Macy’s. We went to the Niketown store and hit a bunch of boutiques. Kendra bought a new American Girl Doll at the American Girl store.

We also did some touristy sight-seeing things. We went up into the Hancock building. We took a boat tour from Navy Pier. We visited a few museums. We walked through Millennium Park and Kendra played in the fountain. We went to the Science and History museum. And we walked around and enjoyed the “Taste of Chicago” which coincided with our visit. Cheesecake on a stick – enough said.

We ate really well. We ate in the Cheesecake Factory under the Hancock building. We ate at the Signature at the TOP of the Hancock building. We had tea at the American Girl Store, and tea in the Ritz Carlton. We (of course) had pizza at Giordano’s. There was no lack of good food, which is typical of my vacations. 🙂

We had a great trip and enjoyed seeing Flora. Though the train ride back to Bryan was extremely delayed and didn’t get in until around 1 am.
