2011 – Fort Lauderdale

We were dying for a relaxing and inexpensive vacation with 3 goals – knock some stuff off the bucket list, relax, and get a tan. Missions accomplished with our 2011 Spring Break vacation to Fort Lauderdale.

2010 – Disney World

For Kendra’s 16th birthday, I asked her if she wanted a Sweet 16 party. She hedged. I asked if she’d rather take a nice vacation. Any place she’d like to go… Within reason. She chose Disney World. I pressed her to choose HAWAII. But no. We went to Disney World and had a great time!

2009 – Winter Park, CO

In 2009, we took a Spring Break ski vacation to Colorado. We had some good food, did some shopping, and managed to somehow not injure ourselves. Kendra was jealous of her friends that would come home with tans, but she decided it was worth it because we had so much fun.

2006 – Mammoth Caves

In the fall of 2006, we took a one-day vacation to Mammoth Caves. Kendra had never been in a cave before and I thought it was something she needed to experience.

2006 – Jamaica

For Spring Break in 2006, I wanted to take a REALLY nice vacation. I was still a broke college student working 2 jobs, but I saved for a while for a nice trip to an all-inclusive resort in Jamaica.

2005 – Chicago

In 2005, we went to visit a friend that lived in Chicago. We stayed in her condo near the Miracle Mile. We went to the American Girl Store and had tea. We went to some museums. We went shopping. We had lunch in the Hancock building and took a boat tour from Navy Pier. We had tea in the Ritz Carlton and pizza at Giordano’s. Through it all we took some great pictures!

2004 – Gatlinburg

Gatlinburg is one of our favorite places to visit. Samantha, the cousin that I am closest to, lives there and we love to visit her as well. In 2004, we made a long weekend vacation trip out of it.

2003 – Washington DC

In 2003 we went to the Washington, DC area to visit one of my friends from high school and to do some sightseeing. There are tons of photos of us in 2003 in this article.

2000 – Walt Disney World

This was a memorable trip for us. Kendra was 6 and the perfect age to experience Disney for the first time. This was also our first time on a plane.
